Each year, we look forward to August as that means the students are back on campus and the semester kicks off again!!! God gave us incredible opportunities to train up students leaders and to reach out to new and current students during this last month. Here's the ministry that you helped enable in August!
1,100+ Airport pick ups for new international students completed!
18 BSM leadership students trained in gospel appointments and equipped to do campus ministry this semester during our 3-day leadership training retreat.
1,432 new international students and about 100 volunteers came to the Big Howdy International Student Welcome party where they were introduced to Christian organizations on campus, the Friendship Partner Program, English Conversation Club, Furniture Giveaway and more. The BSM hosted the effort in conjunction with 5 other international ministries and the UTD International Office.
1,200 students fed by Texas Baptists Men at our annual Fajita Feed Outreach Lunch in the middle of campus the second week of classes.
At least 20 gospel appointments set up from Fajita Feed where student leaders will connect and share the gospel with students who requested more info on the BSM. We are still working through the contact cards and expect the number of gospel appointments to rise!
5 nightly BSM Welcome Week events hosted in conjunction with local churches, giving them access to campus to meet new students and invite them to be part of their groups.
2 pots of chai tea made each week of class for our new weekly International student Chai tea outreach in the business school.
God is doing exciting things at UTD! Please keep praying with us for a gospel movement to happen on our campus!
Prayer Requests
Through gospel appointments, we have had some great opportunities to share the gospel. Please pray for the BSM staff and student leaders as we continue to walk with these students in community and in living out the gospel in front of them.
We have kicked off our 6 Grow Teams (small group/outreach teams) led by staff and student co-leaders. Please pray that these groups will not only produce authentic Bible discussions but will lend to active obedience and heart changes in the students.
We will host our Fall Retreat Sept. 28-30 in conjunction with the Collin College and Richland College BSMs. Please pray for wisdom for our staff team as we finish planning the retreat and that the retreat will be a great time of community and students encountering the Lord.
